Still doing my due diligence and have a few observations, I have talked to a number of different companies and all the blades seem very similar. It is very confusing to know who is being truthful and who is being deceitful. It seems as if the newer gen 4 Raptor blade are the front runner for performance, I have seen on any number of other boards and posts where these blades have been added to turbines and their performance increase has been notable. I cannot say the same in the other direction, no one is showing their blades doing a better job on a different PMA, (I have come to the conclusion that any motor resembling a PMM, thank you billythekid), is out of the question when I finally decide to buy my turbine).
It scares me no end when a company will copy anothers design and use inferior materials and then say they have a superior product. This is where I have my biggest concerns, I tend to throw out the lowest cost unit straight away, I will not even consider it for the reason that it is obviously either a bait and switch product or one that is made to fail. I also will throw out the highest cost units, since they are typically overpriced for their performance.
This leaves me a crowded middle, and this is where I get concerned, lots of products, none really similar, but kinda of close in their claims. I see 200 to 400 watt units for $500 to$1,000, and then I see 500 to 200 watt units for less money, and claiming more production. My biggest question....Where is the truth? I want the best value for my dollar, I want American made, I am scared to try the imports, they seem really poor in comparison testing, again thank you billythekid, you seem to put on a very real test. Getting closer to a decision, will post a comment when I do!
